What is the Pixel Floor?
An interactive Pixel Floor that thinks and plays along
The Pixel Floor, also known as a mega grid floor, is a game floor built from individual tiles. Each tile contains pressure sensors and LED lighting. Every step you take triggers the tile to respond with colour and sound in real time.
The tiles communicate with a game system that tracks where players stand, counts scores and knows when a game ends. The result: a floor that actively participates in the game, not just a stage for it.
Green tiles are safe. Blue tiles score points. Red tiles are danger. No manual needed. Step on the floor and the floor tells you what to do.
How it works
From first step to first score
Choose a game
Each location offers at least 6 different game modes. Players choose what to play and can switch between games during their session.
Step on the floor
The Pixel Floor responds to your first step. Tile colours tell you everything: safe, danger, score. No warm-up needed, the floor teaches itself.
Play in heats
Groups of 2 to 6 players compete per heat. Larger groups rotate. The audio system signals game end, then the next heat begins.

Pixel Play works with leisure venues across Europe on a long-term partnership basis. We supply, install and maintain the Pixel Floor, you add a unique experience that drives footfall and repeat visits.
Our most common model is a revenue-share partnership: zero upfront investment for the venue. Equipment, installation and ongoing updates are all covered by Pixel Play. Prefer to own it? You can also purchase the Pixel Floor outright. Already have an interactive floor? Then you can run the Pixel Play games as software only.

Common questions about the Pixel Floor
A Pixel Floor is built from tiles with pressure sensors. Every step activates light and sound directly under your feet. The floor runs multiple game modes, tracks live scores and reacts in real time to every player's movement, no joysticks or screens required.
Pixel Floor, mega grid floor and mega grid game all describe the same type of product: an interactive game floor with pressure-sensor tiles. Pixel Play's Pixel Floor is a permanent installation with 8 different games and live team scores built in. The terminology varies by region and supplier, the concept is the same.
Pixel Play has 18 open locations: 13 in the Netherlands (Assen, Beusichem, Den Bosch, Echt, Geldrop, 's-Gravenzande, Haarlem, Kerkrade, Lauwersoog, Nijmegen, Roosendaal, Tilburg and Wormerveer), 3 in Belgium (Aalst, Brugge and Lommel), 1 in Germany (Twist) and 1 in Spain (Tenerife). Pixel Play works with leisure centers, family fun centers, restaurants, bowling alleys and sports venues. There are three ways to work with us: a revenue-share partnership with zero investment from the venue (equipment, installation and updates provided by Pixel Play), buying the Pixel Floor outright, or running the Pixel Play games as software only on a floor you already have. Everyone is welcome, there is no minimum or maximum age. For the best experience we recommend it from age 6. The difficulty level is adjustable, easy, medium or hard, so children, teenagers and adults all play at their own level.
